Gay of A Certain Age - The Birthday Booty!!

You read how much I enjoyed my birthday celebration and how I gave a special shout out to Bryan Fuller for the fabulous Jason Voorhees facemask he gifted me (pictured above), but I wanted to mention the other wonderful gifts I received.

First, my co-worker, Christina surprised me with thus cute pumpkin in a birthday hat and some candy as a nice acknowledgement of my special day.  So sweet!

As for the other gifts, as a Gay of A Certain Age, I have what I need and a bunch of stuff I want, so I have created a wish list on the Amazons that holds items that I would enjoy and would purchase for myself, to make it easy for those who want to get me something.  I can't tell you how much I've appreciated other peoples' wish lists, after stressing about stuff I don't know whether they'd enjoy or not.

Now, I'll brag about my birthday booty, like a happy gay pirate!

This is a Leatherface bust, suitable for hanging on my spooky Halloween tree!
...which I just put up last week.
 ...Look, I was busy, Buddy!

This is the Original Cast Recording of
EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE on CD!
I wartched the movie on the Prime and really enjoyed it.
I have plans to see the live show at the Ahmanson Theatre in early 2022!

This is IN THE HEIGHTS on the Blu-Ray!!
I loved the stage show and I really enjoyed the movie!!
I get so excited when there's a movie musical to get on the DVD!

I'm so happy to get these books by Grady Hendrix.
During the lockdown, I got back into reading and I had a blast reading
MY BEST FRIEND'S EXORCISM,
so I put these 2 books by the same author on my wish list.
I'm excited to get to them, but currently I am reading
CHRISTINE by Stephen King,
followed by
by Steven Reigns

My brother got me this
TAKASHI MURAKAMI
knock off pillow.
I didn't realize how much this would make me smile when I put it on my wish list.
I swear, every time I look at it
I get this goofy smile.
I feel a little guilty about it being a knock-off and
I think it would probably be worth the original's $400 cost,
but I think that might be rude to include an item of that price on a wish list.
...Maybe.

I received a few more items, but these are the ones I have photos of.  I have these pics, because I like to send an acknowledgement and "Thank you" when I receive them.  As a Gay of A Certain Age,
I know how important it is to be grateful and let people know that you are!

Thank you!!!

Gay of A Certain Age - My HOT DOG Birthday

It's My Birthday, I'll Dance on a Box if I want to... And I did!

With so much going on, I was too busy to actually plan a birthday celebration, but I didn't want to ignore the day.  What I ended up doing was recalling the fun time I had hosting HOT DOG in July and realizing that that'd be a nice place to hang out and have friends join as they please.  It worked out nicely.  I posted this on the Facebooks invites

and before I knew it, I was celebrating with my friends and laughing it up!

Dear friends, Brett and Andrew, volunteered to drive me there so I wouldn't have to worry about driving home toasted.  Muh DAB, Glenn, agreed to drive me home. TEAMWORK!!

As the night started, I danced on a box in a jockstrap, as a warm-up

I think I might have scared that guy away... him thinking that I was the poor quality of dancers for the evening...   Club King, Mario Diaz, didn't seem to mind and welcomed me with open arms

AND sexy dancers

Seeing as we arrived just as the club was starting up, we had time to claim a table and relax...

...Get our Hot Dog on

...And introduce ourselves to the evening's dancers
Hi, Zaddy!!!

Friends began to show up and enjoy the late afternoon and Hot Dogs

I'm at an age where I pretty much have what I need and a bunch of what I want, but gifts are always nice, but not necessary at birthday time. With that in mind, Bryan Fuller gets a special shout out for gifting me with the most NEATO present!  A Jason Voorhees facemask signed by Tom Savini!

We took a quick Birthday pic, before the club started getting too crazy and we couldn't be seen in a group.

Suddenly the place was filled up and I was more and more delighted as friends arrived and blended into the relish of my Hot Dog Birthday!

Hot Dog Break!

Spot favorite Specialty Actor, Adam Russo, in the crowd Break!

I couldn't believe how quickly the night flew by and it came time to bid the El Cid a good night!

So, home I went and fell asleep with visions of Hot Dog Fairies dancing in my dreams...

As a Gay of A Certain Age, I know the importance of having wonderful friends, good times and hottie dancers all around.  Thank you, Mario Diaz, El Cid, Club Hot Dog, Zaddy and my dear, dear friends, even those who were there in spirit.

Until next time!
