Merry Christmas 2025!

I hope your Holidays are as Happy as they can be!
If you're spending your holiday totally alone,
I hope you find good and healthy ways to keep yourself company!
Some of the things I've done to fill my time alone are:
Actually read a book!
This is the last book I have read.  I'm currently working on some collected stories by HP Lovecraft

Appreciate that (Holiday) movie I've been meaning to watch for years!
I couldn't get myself to start SPIRITED

Walk about and take pictures of Holiday decorations that make me happy.

The WeHo bars all lit up are a colorful blast holiday cheer!

Craft my Holiday Cards
More on this later

write stuff (in my Blog)
NO PIC

Anyway, remember what you enjoy and do it!
Give yourself the gift of time with you and what makes you happy!

Easter - A Good Top is Hard to Find!

Hey, Easter sailor! Buy me a drink?

In April I had a fabulous Easter Celebration at two separate celebrations.
I started the day with muh DAB, Dennis and that circle for a wonderful brunch.
Cripes! I gotta talk about that hat NOW...

I don't know if you remember muh DAB, Dudley, but one of the reasons I love him is that he is incredibly creative & industrious and he keeps me on my toes.  Well, I couldn't show up at his place, Easter afternoon in just a baseball cap or stubbly top hair, so I whipped up a bonnet appropriate for viewing by someone of Dudley's creativity level.  I must say, I am proud of my effort, though it is a bit much.

Anyway, at Dennis' brunch we had a lovely spread and great company!

The table was set, with a good deal of goodies readily at hand!

The salad was fruity

The eggs were cheesy & sausagey

the watermelon was deliciously Spring Chickeny!

Everyone stood and applauded when Matt Zarley presented his monkey Bread!

Cards were presented,

more candy was eaten,

and pictures were taken!

It took us a while to get everyone in this one!

As the afternoon rolled on, I made my way to Dudley's place where the tables were being set
The centerpieces were delightful

Everyone brought a food item for the dinner, but I spent so much time on my bonnet that I could not offer much more than these delicious mini cupcakes.

Before dinner, some younger folk enjoyed hunting for disco Easter Eggs

I wasn't kidding about disco.

Host, Dudley with non-DAB friends
(Chuck & Greg are married! They ruined it!)

Then, Pictures were taken unmercifully

(Not my photo, but this is mostly everyone)

At the end of the day, I was exhausted, stuffed and satisfied that we had celebrated Easter to its fullest and cherished what good times we hoped we had coming to us in the 2025 to follow.  Pleased, I knew it was time to hang up my bonnet.

S'Up Muh DAB? - Vintage Flicks

Here's the first part of a review of my 2025, which involves muh DABs (Die Alone Buddies).
It seems March was heavily populated with visits to revival movie theaters and catching a bunch of old movies!  This activity sits well with me, as it's cheaper than the newer, not so great movies and it gives me a chance to appreciate things about movies I couldn't when I was younger. Watching some of these movies with no life experience and judging them by things I didn't understand just ain't right!

In March we caught, THE GOOD GIRL at Vidiots, introduced by director Mike White,
With a nice Q & A with cast members Zooey Deschanel and John C. Reilly.
Let me tell you, after this viewing I realized how much more Jennifer Aniston's character was an awful person than I had realized on the first viewing, so many years ago.

We went to the New Beverly Cinema to see a double feature of SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES and FOUL PLAY
SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES held up really well (except for a few lines that read REALLY racist now) and made me laugh just as much from my original viewings.  FOUL PLAY didn't hold up as well, but Goldie is such a treat!  Speaking of Goldie...
Was the artist watching Family Ties while whipping up this poster and accidentally put Tina Yothers' face on Goldie's body?
We also caught THE LAST SEDUCTION at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Other old movie adventures include
STREETS OF FIRE

AMERICAN GIGOLO

MOMMIE DEAREST at Vidiots, on Mother's Day, no less!

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

FOOTLOOSE (Vidiots)

and most recently CHOPPING MALL at Killer Fitness in Burbank
(This place is really my kind of joint: Aerobics & Pilates in the daytime and horror & sci-fi movies at night!)

As you can see, I have a pretty good roster of DABs, but if you don't and you love old movies, GO!! You just might meet & pick up a few DABs of your own!  Either way, if you're alone, it's still worth giving a movie a second chance!

Good times and bum times, I've seen 'em all, and, my dear...

Here I am!! It's the end of 2025, I'm still alive, single and happy!
I'll be honest with you all, I started posting a lot less because I got paranoid about making things easy for Identity thieves as well as giving the current administration fodder for persecution.  Even so, life still happened, I got busy and gave it my best to BE MORE GAY!  You, see, when that awful man and the evil-doers behind him were back in that office, I went into a tailspin and saw nothing but darkness and gloom for me and others like me.  Then a voice in my balls, rose up in my head and said "Be More Gay!" That's when I decided, "no hiding."  Never mind the still painful origins of our Pride symbol, the Pink Triangle and worries of gay bashings, I decided to be more gay.  What did that mean for me, since I'm not in the closet? Well it meant not pausing at my door before stepping out and thinking about my shirt or outfit, "Is this too gay?"  It means not stopping myself from saying something about being attracted to a guy in public.  No more censoring my thoughts and feeling for other people's comfort!

"Be More Gay" became my slogan, so much so that I commissioned my friend and ancient idol, Jackie Beat to make an art piece featuring the very words!  SIDE STORY:  Jackie Beat was shopping and something terrible caught her eye.  It was this generic wall art thing, meant to pander to the gay dollar, featuring a rainbow protruding out of the word "Together". What made it so offensive (Especially to Jackie) was the poor choice of colors to feature in the rainbow; Peach, Sky Blue and Avocado Green instead of (and in addition to) the traditional primary colors.  She grabbed a bunch and decided to do her thing, Viola! Jackie had a little side gig selling her artwork and commissions.  I immediately ordered my commissioned piece, then, a little later, went to her fancy showing at Outfitters Wigs in Hollywood.  There was a little show, snacks, drinks and, of course, Jackie's (f)artwork for sale!  It was a great time.  Here's pictures to prove it.

Me with the (f)artiste, Jackie Beat

My favorite piece (Other than my own)

Enjoying the show with Dennis Hensley, Drew Droege and the top of Frank DeCaro's head.
It's Frank's photo. Don't tell him I stole it!

I had a great time at the show and wish I had more disposable funds to have bought another piece, but I think Jackie's doing pretty well.  I think she's only doing commissions now, but check out her Insta and see what's happening!

Speaking of what's happening, I'll do a little review of my 2025 and fill you in with what kept me busy, if not a delicious boyfriend man who loves me as much as I love him.

Meanwhile, I'm still happy and single and being more gay!

Until then, please enjoy my semi-permanent Facebook Cover Photo.
