Good times and bum times, I've seen 'em all, and, my dear...

Here I am!! It's the end of 2025, I'm still alive, single and happy!
I'll be honest with you all, I started posting a lot less because I got paranoid about making things easy for Identity thieves as well as giving the current administration fodder for persecution.  Even so, life still happened, I got busy and gave it my best to BE MORE GAY!  You, see, when that awful man and the evil-doers behind him were back in that office, I went into a tailspin and saw nothing but darkness and gloom for me and others like me.  Then a voice in my balls, rose up in my head and said "Be More Gay!" That's when I decided, "no hiding."  Never mind the still painful origins of our Pride symbol, the Pink Triangle and worries of gay bashings, I decided to be more gay.  What did that mean for me, since I'm not in the closet? Well it meant not pausing at my door before stepping out and thinking about my shirt or outfit, "Is this too gay?"  It means not stopping myself from saying something about being attracted to a guy in public.  No more censoring my thoughts and feeling for other people's comfort!

"Be More Gay" became my slogan, so much so that I commissioned my friend and ancient idol, Jackie Beat to make an art piece featuring the very words!  SIDE STORY:  Jackie Beat was shopping and something terrible caught her eye.  It was this generic wall art thing, meant to pander to the gay dollar, featuring a rainbow protruding out of the word "Together". What made it so offensive (Especially to Jackie) was the poor choice of colors to feature in the rainbow; Peach, Sky Blue and Avocado Green instead of (and in addition to) the traditional primary colors.  She grabbed a bunch and decided to do her thing, Viola! Jackie had a little side gig selling her artwork and commissions.  I immediately ordered my commissioned piece, then, a little later, went to her fancy showing at Outfitters Wigs in Hollywood.  There was a little show, snacks, drinks and, of course, Jackie's (f)artwork for sale!  It was a great time.  Here's pictures to prove it.

My favorite piece (Other than my own)

Enjoying the show with Dennis Hensley, Drew Droege and the top of Frank DeCaro's head.
It's Frank's photo. Don't tell him I stole it!

I had a great time at the show and wish I had more disposable funds to have bought another piece, but I think Jackie's doing pretty well.  I think she's only doing commissions now, but check out her Insta and see what's happening!

Speaking of what's happening, I'll do a little review of my 2025 and fill you in with what kept me busy, if not a delicious boyfriend man who loves me as much as I love him.

Meanwhile, I'm still happy and single and being more gay!

Until then, please enjoy my semi-permanent Facebook Cover Photo.

Too Busy For Love - Blood Camping It Up

Of course, I would love to come over and help you sort your
WHITE LOTUS Trading Cards,
but I'm too busy!

You see, during the Covid Lockdown,
Kurt Koehler and I
Zoomed and wrote
a show for Frieda Laye!

After stuff started opening up again,
we put together a cast
and rehearsed.
(Yes, that's Julie Brown!)

Then, on August 6th
(Just one week short of hitting the acutual Friday the 13th)
We opened the show!

(Yes, Reba Areba is in the cast, too!)

By the time we opened,
Covid stuff was changing again,
and the audience had to agree to wear facemasks
and show proof of vaccination.
Luckily, most people complied and we only had to refund
a few tickets to those who didn't want to vax.
Why, here are some of those audience members, now...

Drew Droege

Cher Ferreyra

Natalie Lander

Tom Goss

Ken Kleiber

Alejandro Patino

As you can see from these last few pics,
our Sunday shows were so hot,
I couldn't get my eyelashes to stick
for an entire show!

All of our shows Sold Out
and we had a fabulous time!
With this cast, how could we not?
Dustyn Gulledge, Jenna Perusich, Hayes Dunlap
Julie Brown, Craig Taggart
Lennon Hobson, Kalan Tauck, Frieda Laye (me)

Most of all,
I feel very lucky to work with
one of my favorite people and performers,
Julie Brown!
I've loved her since the 80's
and now, I get to play with her on stage!

So here's me and Kurt,
smiling because we had a blast!

We had so much of a blast,
we're doing it, again!!

October 15-24
Friday-Sunday

Remember, you gotta show proof of vaccination to enter!

So, while I'd love to help you laminate your
Jake Lacy "Shirtless in the Pineapple Suite" cards,
I can't!  I'm too busy!

Too Busy For Love - A week of TRICK and treats!

My dear friends, I've been meaning to post more about the loss of a DAB and Gay Pride LA, but I've been too busy!!  I haven't even watched The TONYS, yet!!  When I'm too busy to watch The Tonys, I AM TOO BUSY!!!

Instead of heading home to watch my favorite awards show on Monday, I headed over to Disney's California Adventure to catch the World of Colors Show, as an appetizer for Tuesday's festivities...

A trip to Disneyland to visit the new Star Wars land, Galaxy's Edge!
(Darth Vader, Oscar Quintero (Kay Sedia), Dunquito, Daron Quintero and me)

"I did the Casserole Run in 12 forkfuls!"

Then, on Wednesday, after work, instead of watching Elaine May accept her Tony for Best Lead Actress in a Play,  I went to someone else's home to feed these fur butts...

(I spent one night in my own bed, after two weeks of cat sitting,
now I'm sharing a bed with these lovable goofs)
Then, I immediately rushed over to The Hayworth to catch one of my favorite people, Drew Droege, in his one man show, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOUG! in which he plays the entire party of messy gays.
I wasn't alone, I was with a few of muh DABs and some Attacheds.
(Me, Dennis Hensley, Jackie Clark, Matt Zarley, Glenn Gaylord, Jeb Havens)

(Me with Drew Droege)
I don't know if I was fully capable of telling Drew how much I enjoyed his performance(s) and how much I admire him as an actor, but I think my big, too long hug got some of it across!

Then, last night, without getting to see what number from THE PROM was performed at the Tonys,
I fed the dogs then hopped over to the Harmony Gold to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of TRICK!

This movie has a special place in my heart for a few really good reasons, one of which is I actually lived out the plot on a trip to New York in 1994.  Perhaps there will be a post telling you that story a little later, if I'm not too busy...
Anyway, I say I love this movie often, but it had been many years since I had actually sat and watched it again.  I got a little worried; you know how sometimes you see a movie and love it, then a few years later watch it again and wonder "What was I thinking?"  or "It's still okay, but not as great as I thought..."  I took for granted that I love this movie, but last night all of my original feelings for TRICK came back full force.  I think I even appreciated it more as an actor, an older gay and audience member.  Sure, there was a lot of nostalgia flooding my heart, but the spark really was new and bright again. Jim Fall really captured something special in TRICK and I'm grateful I got to experience it again!

My friends, Heath Daniels, That Guy and Darren Stein were in attendance-
(Speaking of sparks, check out Darren Stein's movie SPARKLER. It is a TREAT!)

That Tired Old Queen at the Movies, Steve Hayes, who plays Perry was there!
Hunky John Paul Pitoc was there!

Christian Campbell,( whose performance I appreciated even more), was there!

That sweetheart director, Jim Fall, was there!
He really is sweet!

Brad Beyer, the straight roommate, was also there!
You know who wasn't there,
Tori Spelling (Excused- she's shooting the 90120 reboot)
and Miss Coco Peru!
I was looking forward to taking a picture with Miss Coco Peru
because you can NEVER have too many pictures with Miss Coco Peru!
I can't stand not to post one,
So... I'll just post one from 2011
I am lucky to have so many talented people in my life and if none of that talent rubs off on me, I'll be happy just watching their work and hoping to learn.

So, there you have it, a week so busy I couldn't watch the Tonys, much less, even think of finding someone to fall in love with!
