Gay of A Certain Age - Tom's House

My birthday weekend continued

with a visit to the 

Tom of Findland Foundation 

in Echo Park

on Sunday.

As a Gay of A Certain Age, I think it's important to remember 

all aspects of our history

and Tom of Finland certainly had an impact on our community!

I was pleased to find that muh DAB, 

Steven Reigns, 

City of West Hollywood Poet Laureate

was hosting

erotic poetry reading!

 Also reading their poetry were

 Ramon Garcia

and David Parke Epstein

I liked Steven's BEING 16 most.

 A little later, Jordan performed as Grace Jones

There were quite a few hotties around the house...

There were also some interesting sights around the house...

 There were also some friends selling their wares,

including photographer, Jeremy Lucido,

founder of 

STARRFUCKER MAGAZINE

As I left, I took another look around

to take in my surroundings

and embrace the sense of history

...and catch a glimpse of another cute artist!

Gay of A Certain Age - 48 & Nellie

Saturday I turned 48 and had a blast!

It started off with a surprise drink from my friends Rick & Jeffrey, who were sitting at another table.

Then the wait staff surprised me with a Tequilla shot.

That little glass looks more like three shots to me, but who am I to complain?

SMOOTH!

Then came my favorite part of the night...

remember that "Nomophobia" thing I have about getting people's name wrong,

well, Chico's Angels Hunk, Josh shows up, 

and I introduce him to the room as "Trevor"!

I didn't even realize until a few minutes later when he said, 

"Thanks for that..."

Maybe it was the triple tequilla shot.

Muh DAB, Dennis and I shared the celebration, 

which consisted of a few appetizers in a back room

of the Casita Del Campo,

chat & the Nellie Olesons after.

It was a nice crowd,

They're all pretty cool, 

except for that Trevor, 

he's aloof.

 The wait staff surprised us with Flan & a song!

After, we headed downstairs to the 

Cavern Club Theater

to watch the Nellie Olesons,

who are literally

balls out

funny!

We shamelessly broke the 

no photos in the theater rule

(well before the show started)

After the show I was a nerd

and got a photo with each and every single one of the Nellies!

All in all 

it was a fun,

easy breezy, 

laugh outloud

good time birthday,

made even more special by sharing it with

muh DAB, Dennis Hensley!

Too Busy For Love - Birthday Edition

I'd love to go to Cabo with you, but I can't!  I'm too busy with my birthday weekend!
I started the day off crafting Halloween Cards.

It was a fun, creative way to start the weekend and I'll show you a few of the more
blog friendly ones later.
Then, I went to the movies with one of muh DABs.

THE MARTIAN was a good pick.  I really enjoyed it, it was a good adventure movie and it made me forget all about the stupid stuff Matt Damon has been spouting lately. I would recommend it to a DAB.

Tomorrow, for my birthday, muh DAB, Dennis Hensley, whose birthday was on the 29th,  and I are hosting a few friends at the Casita Del Campo with some Mexi-Snacks & chat, followed by a walk downstairs to the basement, known as the Cavern Club Theater.  There, we'll watch The Nellie Olesons latest show.

I've been a fan for a long time and this is the first time they've performed together in a good number of years.

Sunday, I'm heading over to Tom of Finland's house, where he's hosting a some of his artist friends- some photographers, painters, sketchers, performers and such...

I plan to support my artist friends, so who knows what kind of art work I'll be bringing home.  ...or man.

So, thanks for the invite, but I can't, I'm too busy!!

This Is Why I Am Single - October Man

I have a silly game I play with my porno Colt Men calendar, which I keep in my closet, because really, where is an appropriate place in a gay man's apartment for ANY calendar?  Anyway, every first day of the month I excitedly flip the page to see what naked hunk I get to see for four weeks!  I'm not terribly picky, but once in a while, I'm slightly disappointed because the guy either looks too skanky or just plain boring, no matter how naked he is.  Since October is my birth month, I pretend that HE is the special man who is my imaginary boyfriend ALL MONTH LONG!  We go on pretend dates, eat pretend meals together, pretend snuggle and have pretend very satisfying sex together, but mostly he just helps me pick out a shirt to wear. Well, this morning I was very pleased that my boyfriend for a month is the delicious Brad Kalvo! (or some earlier version of him, I swear this photo is 10 years old or more, but it's all fanatsy anyway, right?  He's more daddylicious, now.)

This Is Why I Am Single, I keep a naked man calendar in my closet and pretend the models are my boyfriends... and I'm not ashamed!  Now, if you'll excuse us, Brad and I are off to a pretend iced pumpkin spice latte and scones date.
